We do come across this scenario whereby the GoDaddy M365 Email option has been selected when you register your domain and you end up with a setup inside GoDaddy for that. Not a totally bad option but it does mean that you are using the GoDaddy console for the administration and it really doesn’t offer all the features and needs to work with the Microsoft 365 eco system as effectively as you would like.
Sometimes it becomes necessary to move into a fully open Microsoft 365 of your own.
What I have put together in this video is how you would go about migrating your email from the GoDaddy M365 Tenant into a Full Microsoft Tenant. All the pre-requisites and setup procedures are explained as we use the BitTitan MigrationWiz tool to perform these tasks. I talk about how to get into the backend of the GoDaddy tenant, the Azure AD, and get access to the ‘onmicrosoft.com’ admin account that we use for the migration. How to configure the Modern Authentication with the App Registrations and also configure the Migration process.
This video moves a live M365 mailbox which I show step by step, even including the Support Chat at the end needed to move the actual domain from one tenant to another, effectively extracting in from the GoDaddy system.
